Opaque Glass Seeded into Concrete

Our opaque collection offers something different than the normal clear glass seen on typical Seeded Exposed Concrete projects throughout the United States.  This LAUSD project called the Central Learning Center is utilized Pistachio and Ghiribaldi Orange Opaque.  Marne Construction is shown hand seeding and exposing the glass with Grace Top Cast.  On other sections of this project there is also clear glass, opaque glass (mentioned above), stone and granite chips. 
This project is a new K-12 School in Los Angeles, CA on the site of the now demolished but infamous Ambassodor Hotel where Robert F. Kennedy was assassinated.  This new Learning Center will hold 4,000 students and those students have a lot of concrete to run around on!  We are so happy that LAUSD has paid tribute to this special site and chosen a decorative concrete finish with glass!

Glow in the Dark Glass

Product Feature:

We carry a glow in the dark glass aggregate that looks great in exterior concrete finishes and interior epoxy terrazzo.  As this Glowing Glass is becoming a popular trend in the industry the price has been undoubtedly the largest issue in preventing contractors and designers from utilizing it in large areas.  Usually it ranges from $15 - $35 per lb.  Artisans Materials sells Glow in the Dark glass for $6.50 - $9 per lb. depending on lbs. needed, contact your sales representative (mbrownson@artisansmaterials.com) with questions or comments regarding the glow in the dark glass.

Aggregate Size Standards

How does our sizing compare to NTMA standards? We try to get our sizes as close to NTMA Size Standards as possible. We import and produce most of our materials (except local recycled materials) from overseas and they use the metric system so the sizes may off by a tiny amount. We would like you to contact us before ordering for large projects and we'll send you a sample kit of the sizes so you can see exactly what a #0, #1 etc. look like.
